I am writing further to your recent correspondence with the PCC, regarding an article published by the Daily Mail (Mail Online) on 13 December 2013, with the headline “’E-cigarette smokers inhale more nicotine and toxins than regular smokers’: study finds users are unknowingly inhaling ‘a host of dangerous chemicals’”.
As you are aware, the PCC investigated this matter with a lead complainant, in accordance with our normal procedures for handling multiple complaints about the same article. That investigation has now concluded following the resolution of the complaint. A summary of the outcome has now been published on the PCC’s website. This can be found here:
Press Complaints Commission >> News >> Mr Jim Underhill==
The revised article and correction, which were published as a result of the PCC’s investigation, can be found here:
'E-cigarette smokers may absorb MORE nicotine and toxins than regular smokers': Study to investigate risk of using 'healthy' tobacco alternative | Mail Online
I would like to thank you for raising your concerns with us.
With best wishes,
Yours faithfully
Ben Gallop
