Sähköautoilu on kiellettävä
Kaikki tietävät että autoilu on hengenvaarallista. Suomessa kuolee vuosittain liikenteen seurauksena suoraan 349 (vahingoitettu uhreja jopa 6308) [1], epäsuorasti satoja liikenteen saasteiden takia ja sairastuneita tuhansia [2]. Maailmaan laajuisesti uhrien lukumäärä nousee kymmeniin miljooniin [3].
Autoyhtiöiden uusi tapa yrittää tyrkyttää autoilua kansalaisille on sähköautot, joilla väitetään pienennettävän autoilun haittavaikutuksia. Tämä lähestymistapa muistuttaa 70-, 80 -lukujen öljykriisin aiheuttavan suuntauksen, jolloin tuotiin markkinoille "kevyt"-autoja, joiden kulutuksen väitettiin olevan perinteisiä autoja pienempi. Tämä suuntaus kuitenkin vain tuotti paljon hengenvaarallisia peltipurkkeja eikä millään tavalla vähentynyt autoilun kokonaishaittoja. Itse asiassa autoilu lisääntyi tuona ajankohtana maailmassa 40 % [4]
Autoyhtiöiden markkinointi on koko autoilun historian ajan ollut hyvin kyseenalainen, autoja on myyty seksillä, elokuvatähtiä on palkattu luomaan illuusiolla vapaudesta ja luomaan kuvaa että autoilu on "siistiä". Autoilua on jopa markkinoitu esteettömästi pienille lapsille (linkki Cars (2006) - IMDb).
2000-luvun jälkeen tietoisuus autoilun haitoista on kuitenkin saatu nousuun ja autoilevan kansanosan kasvu pysäytettyä. Tämä on saanut autoyhtiöt suuntaamaan markkinoinnin kehittyviin maihin. Joka neljäs myyty auto tänä päivänä myydään Kiinassa [5]. Länsimaissa tapahtunut positiivinen kehitys on kuitenkin uhan alla johtuen uudesta tavasta autoilla: sähköautoilu.
Tämä huolestuttava trendi perustuu ajatukseen että sen sijaan että energiaa saadaan polttamalla raakaöljystä jalostetuilla tuotteilla itse autossa, liikkumiseen tarvittava energia on varastoitu akkuihin. Autoyhtiöiden väitteiden mukaan tämä vähentää haitallisten palamistuotteiden syntymistä. Näille väitteille ei kuitenkaan löydy juurikaan tutkimustuloksia, eikä yhtään pitkäaikaista ison otannan seurantatutkimusta ole tehty yhdessäkään maassa. Siitä huolimatta, että ei ole pystytty osoittamaan että sähköautoilu olisi vaaratonta tai edes terveellisempää kuin perinteinen autoilu, autoyhtiöt lanseeraa markkinoille jatkuvasti uusia malleja. Sähköautoja myydään hyvin erilaisiin kuoriin paketoituna: sedan, coupe, urheilumalli, citymaasturi ja jopa sähkölinja-autoja tuotu markkinoille. Erilaiset vaihtoehdoilla on pyritty saamaan laajempaa osaa kansasta riippuvaisuksi autoilusta, on vaihtoehtoja niin naisille, miehille, kaupunkilaisille, maalaisille jne... Lisäksi suuri kirjo eri värivaihtoehdoista varmasti houkuttelee lapsia pitämään autoista. Sähköautoja on jopa hävyttömästi suoraan yritetty markkinoida lapsille (linkki Technic Toys, Power Toys, Battery Powered Toy Cars | LEGO Shop )
On myös selvää että jo lapsena aloitettu sähköautoilu toimii porttina kokoelämän jatkuvaan riippuvuuteen autoiluun. Lapsena aloitetaan radio-ohjattavasta sähköautosta, teini-iässä "kokeillaan" sähköskootteri tai sähkömopoautoa tai pahimmissa tapauksessa molempia. Seurauksena nuoruuden kokeiluista aikuisiän kynnyksellä lähes automaattisesti siirrytään kovan luokan autoiluun. Tässä vaiheessa tavasta on jo erittäin vaikea luopua. Jotkut pystyvät pitäytymään pienemmissä sähköautoissa, kuin taas joillekin tulee mm. perheen ja työelämän paineiden helpottamiseksi tarve ajautua isompiin sähköautoihin. Jotkut onnettomat uhrit voivat jopa ajautua ajamaan sähkörekka-autoa. Tämä sähkömopoporttiteoriaksi kutsuttu tieteellinen fakta on jo pitkään ollut tutkijoiden tiedossa, mutta on jäänyt vähemmälle julkisuudelle autoyhtiöiden lobbaamisen ja mainonnan takia.
Laittakaa nyt hyvät ystävät kukkahatut päähänne ja yhdessä pystymme katkaisemaan pahan sähköautoilun kierteen. Voisimme aloittaa ajamalla sähköautoilun kieltoa julkisilla paikoilla ( kuten työpaikat ja ravintolat ). Perusteena tälle on se että sähköautot ei ole täysin turvallisia sivullisille (mm. jalankulkijat ja pyöräilijät ).
